IMAP protocol - synchronisation protocol

The IMAP protocol allows you to access your emails using a mail client that supports it (e.g. Outlook, Thunderbird) or your webmail interface.

Applications and webmail users connecting to your mailbox will see the same mail and folders. The system will store the mail on our server, the client machine will only download and store part of the messages.

You can organise your mail into folders that users can see on other interfaces. The protocol supports server-side searches, which allow you to search through the mail without downloading it. Mail status is also stored centrally on our server. For example, if a message is set to read or flagged on one client, it will be visible to all users.

IMAP server address: imap.mediacenter.hu
User name: full email address
Password: password associated with the mailbox
Port number: 143 (or 993 for SSL)
